Clement - We Deserve Premier League Survival
Sunday, 14th May 2017 18:07 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

Paul Clement will have an easier week ahead of him now that the Swans have secured their Premier League place with a game to spare after an incredible week that saw them win twice and Hull lose twice to lose their top flight space.

When Hull kicked off against Sunderland just over a week ago it looked for all the money in the world that it would go down to the last game of the season but wins for us over Everton and Sunderland coupled with Hull losing to Sunderland and today at Crystal Palace means a seventh season in the Premier League awaits us when August comes around.

When you factor in that when the season reached its halfway point the Swans had just twelve points on the board you realise just what a turnaround in form we have experienced and one that nobody - including so many at the club - believed was likely to be possible.

The dust had barely settled on Hull's 4-0 hammering at Selhurst Park today when the boss spoke out about the great escape and said to the club's official website "Credit to the players for showing the form they have over the last four games to pick up 10 points from a possible 12

"They deserve to be where they are - playing in the Premier League again.

"I am very proud of what we have achieved in the second half of the season, especially when you put into context where we were when I arrived.

"It's been a collective effort from everyone connected to the club; so congratulations to the players, backroom staff, club staff and definitely our supporters for their help in getting us over the line.

"Our supporters have been amazing. It's been tough for them at times, but they've stuck with us all the way and I'm delighted for them more than anyone.

"I'm looking forward to enjoying the last game of the season with them at the Liberty on Sunday. It should be a fantastic atmosphere.

"We will be aiming to finish the season strongly and reach 41 points. Then we can look forward and make sure we are stronger next season.''
