As expected, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has signed for Championship club Cardiff City following the expiry of his contract at Dale.

It had all but been confirmed by Keith Hill that Nathaniel Mendez-Laing would be leaving the club despite being offered a new deal by the club at the end of season, and that news was rubber stamped today as Cardiff revealed that they had signed the former Posh winger,

The departure will be a blow, albeit an expected one, after a fine second half of the season bY Mendez-Laing. He was undoubtedly our key performer in the latter stages of the season as he hit ten goals in total.

No details have been given in terms of the length of his contract but Cardiff boss Neil Warnock said of the signing: "He’s only a young lad still, but he’s got explosive pace and a lot to prove and I think it’s the right place for him. I think the fans will enjoy watching him."
