Refwatch: Dale v Oxford
Thursday, 14th Dec 2017 05:25 by TVOS

Hull referee Carl Boyeson will be the man in the middle for Dale’s home fixture against Oxford United on Saturday.

Having joined the league list in 2002, this will be Mr Boyeson’s 23rd game involving Dale, with the most recent coming just short of a year ago when he was at the Crown Oil Arena for our 3-0 Boxing Day defeat of Chesterfield.

Carl was also at the Crown Oil Arena earlier last season for the 1-0 loss to MK Dons

Boyeson’s most incident-packed Dale appointment came at the home of Chalky’s mob, Notts County, in January 2005.

The match finished 0-0 and was a very timid affair, but Carl sent-off Dale’s Gareth Griffiths and Ernie Cooksey as we finished the afternoon with only nine men.

Cooksey’s red card was later rescinded, meaning he was free to take part in the FA Cup tie at Charlton five days later.

Back in our 2013/14 promotion season, Carl refereed two Dale games and proved a lucky charm as they produced six points.

Early in the campaign he was in charge of the 1-0 home defeat of bury and in late-March he was the man in the middle as we won 2-0 at Wycombe.

Carl’s full record of Dale matches is:

Aug 02 Southend (h), L 1-2

Jan 03 Lincoln (h), L 0-1

Jan 05 Notts Co (a), D 0-0

Apr 05 Leyton Orient (h), W 2-0

Aug 05 Bradford (h, CC), L 0-5

Oct 08 Morecambe (a), D 1-1

Apr 10 Bournemouth (h), D 0-0

Jan 11 Tranmere (h), W 3-2

Mar 13 Morecambe (a), L 0-3

Sep 13 bury (h), W 1-0

So far this season, Mr Boyeson has refereed 20 games, showing 56 yellow cards and nine red. One of those reds came in his most recent match, Grimsby v Forest Green, last Saturday.
