Transfer window review
Thursday, 1st Feb 2018 05:38 by Col

It was a busy-ish day as the transfer window closes, with three deals being concluded by the 11pm deadline.

As was expected, Dale signed striker Stephen Humphrys on loan from Fulham for the remainder of the season. The 20 year old striker is a local lad having been born in Oldham and started his career at Bury before joining Fulham. He had a loan spell at Shrewsbury twelve months ago where he played over a dozen games.

And in a rather surprising move as the deadline hour approached, rumours on Twitter suggested that there was a move back to Spotland for Scott Wiseman. The former Darlo full back was later confirmed as returning to Rochdale on a loan spell for the rest of the season, and in doing so, he joins that exclusive group of players to have had three separate spells at the club.

Speculation started mounting as a result of Wiseman's signing. It seemed a strange signing given it was an area where we appeared well covered, so understandably it was feared that there was a departure on the way. That proved to be true when it was announced that Wigan had decided to recall Donervon Daniels from his season long loan spell.
