Seven offered fresh deals at club

Matt Done is one of seven Dale players to be offered new terms at Spotland after their previous deals expired at the end of the 2018-19 season.

Those offered new deals are: Matt Done, Aaron Wilbraham, Ollie Rathbone, Kgosi Ntlhe, Jimmy Keohane, Aaron Morley, and Brad Wade. No details of the length of the deals offered have been released.

A fresh deal for Wilbraham a few months ago would have been almost unthinkable but a string of fine performances late on in the season played a pivotal part in Dale remaining in League one, and was enough to convince Brian Barry-Murphy that he warranted an extension.

Offering Ollie Rathbone a new deal would have been something a no brainer. The former Man U trainee is a popular player at the club, and fans will be keen to see him signed up as soon as possible.

Another who has impressed in recent times is Kgosi Ntlhe. He's been a main stay in the side over the last few weeks of the season, proving a handful at both ends of the pitch.

It's been an in and out season for Matt Done, with him starting just over half of the League games this season. He had an out of form spell around the turn of the year, but he is another who has shown a return to form since BBM's appointment.

Jimmy Keohane came to the club in January and will go down as Keith Hill's final signing for the club. His reputation was one of a utility player and so it has proven to be in recent times. He has played in midfield and at right back and has improved with each performance.

Aaron Morley's time has been limited this season to the Checkatrade Trophy before Saturday's appearance at Charlton. High things were expected from Morley and arguably he has fallen behind in the pecking order behind Daniel Adshead, but that might be more of a reflection on Adshead than Morley. The new deal offered suggests those high hopes are still there for him.
