David Rock will referee Rochdale for the first time when we make the stupidly long Christmas trip to Gillingham on Sunday.

The Hertfordshire official is in his first season on the National List and before the festive fixtures he had refereed mainly in League Two and the Leasing.com Trophy, as well as a solitary fixture in League One. However, Mr Rock was due to take charge of Peterborough v Doncaster on Boxing Day.

He started the season refereeing Port Vale v Northampton and although the majority of his games have been in the south and Midlands, David also travelled to the North-West to officiate at Morecambe v Cheltenham in August.

All told, before last weekend, he had refereed 14 games this term, showing 39 yellow cards and three red.
