Ryan McLaughlin re-signs for Dale

Rochdale made signing number two of the summer, well sort of anyway as we welcomed back one of the players we released two months ago!
Injury prone right back Ryan McLaughlin has re-joined Rochdale after being released earlier this summer along with all the other out of contract players. The Northern Irish right back has signed a one-year deal with the club and becomes just our second signing of the summer after Alex Newby joined from non-league Chorley recently.
This is somewhat surprising given how little McLaughlin has been able to feature since Keith Hill signed him back in January of last year from Blackpool. He’s only managed to chalk up 13 starts in that time with a further 6 sub appearances. One of those sub appearances saw him have a huge hand in the equalising goal at home to Newcastle in last season’s FA Cup.
Ryan has shown he’s a very good player, but his injury woes mean we just haven’t seen enough of it but BBM is confident his injury worries are behind him now and that he was the best value for money option we had for the right back position.
Welcome back Ryan.
