Refwatch: Wigan Athletic v Rochdale Monday, 14th Dec 2020 15:00 by TVOS Long-serving EFL referee Graham Salisbury takes charge of Dale’s visit to Wigan Athletic on Tuesday. The Preston whistler, who has been on the league list since the start of the 2001/02 season, has refereed 22 previous Dale games, including three last term which all ended in defeat! The most recent of those was at Sunderland on a freezing cold night in February where Dale went down 3-0 to the Black Cats. Two of Graham’s previous Dale appointments were notable 4-2 away wins. In March 2010 he refereed the 4-2 victory at Accrington which, as it transpired, proved to be the game that took Dale up from League Two. Eighteen months later, in September 2011, Salisbury took charge of the 4-2 win at bury, in which Nicky Adams scored and was then sent-off for picking up a second yellow card after removing his shirt and waving it round his head! The full list of Mr Salisbury’s Dale matches is: Oct 01 Rochdale v Southport (LDV) W 2-0 Before Saturday, when he was due to referee MK Dons v Burton, Graham had overseen 11 games this term, in which he has shown 36 yellow cards and one red.
