Altman and Marcelli join Dale board
Wednesday, 24th Feb 2021 10:57 by athepeake

It was announced by Rochdale AFC on Wednesday morning that Dan Altman and Emre Marcelli had been appointed to the board of directors, with Andrew Kelly taking the chairman role on an interim basis.

Following Andrew Kilpatrick's resignation from the club for personal reasons last week, a statement was released by the club on Wednesday morning confirming that Andrew Kelly will stand in as interim until a new permanent chairman is appointed.

American investors Dan Altman and Emre Marcelli, whose involvement with the club was broken on this site last year by Chris Fitzgerald, have also been appointed to the board.

Now the club’s third and fourth largest shareholders, Altman and Marcelli outlined their vision for the club in a Q&A with the Dale Trust last year which you can find here: https://www.daletrust.co.uk/2020/06/qa-with-dan-altman/

Their appointment to the board, along with the news that their SmarterScout tool has been used by the club since December 2019, is an interesting development and indicates an increased presence and say in the direction of the club going forward.

Understandably, this announcement has caused some discussion among supporters and the club have responded by organising a fans forum with the Board of Directors and Manager Brian Barry-Murphy on Wednesday 10th March at 7pm to be streamed via

Fans can email questions in prior to the event at media@rochdaleafc.co.uk or submit questions via the online live chat function on YouTube.
