Taylor fits the bill for Dale

Rochdale have made their second signing of the summer in the shape of former Manchester United trainee Max Taylor.

The 21 year old sufficiently impressed boss Robbie Stockdale during a trial period at the club and has signed a one year contract at Spotland as a result.

Having been at United for seven years, Taylor decided to leave the Red Devils earlier this summer in order to pursue first-team football, prompting Stockdale to make a move for his services.

Although he never made an appearance for the first team at Old Trafford, he did make the bench for the club's Europa League tie with Astana back in 2019.

Having been diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2018, Taylor spoke with former Dale man Joe Thompson as he underwent chemotherapy before returning to United's U23 team in October of 2019.

He's since spent time on loan with both Stalybridge Celtic and Kidderminster Harriers in non-league before making the decision to join Rochdale this summer following his departure from Old Trafford.

Welcome to the club, Max!
