Rochdale have bolstered their squad further ahead of Saturday's League Two opener vs Harrogate with the loan signings of George Broadbent and Corey O'Keeffe.

Midfielder Broadbent has joined from Championship outfit Sheffield United while Corey O'Keeffe is an attacking full-back that comes in from Mansfield Town.

Both of these loans will expire in the January transfer window.

Broadbent, 20, has been described as a box-to-box midfielder and has spent short loan spells away from Bramall Lane with Curzon Ashton and Belgian outfit Beerschot.

Having been on Manchester United's books as a youngster, the he is now the last year of his contract at Sheffield United having moved to the South Yorkshire outfit in 2017.

O'Keeffe meanwhile made 17 appearances for Mansfield Town last season before falling out of favour with manager Nigel Clough.

The 23 year old had come through the ranks at Birmingham City and spent time on loan with Solihull Moors and Macclesfield Town while representing the Republic of Ireland at U19 level.

He moved to Field Mill last summer following his release from the Blues.
