TVOS Preview: Rochdale v Colchester United
Thursday, 26th Aug 2021 15:00 by TVOS

Rochdale AFC’s matchday programme — The Voice of Spotland — is back for Friday’s Sky Bet League Two fixture against Colchester United.

The programme took a break during the behind closed doors 2020/21 campaign, but has returned this season with 76 jam-packed pages to keep readers completely informed and entertained.

The new-look special edition TVOS starts with an old-style front cover, designed to reflect the occasion of Friday night as Dale celebrate 100 years since their first game in the Football League.

Several one-off special articles relative to this milestone have been written, including a full review of that match against Accrington on 27th August 1921, news about what was happening in Rochdale at the time and the story behind the black and white kit the team will wear on Friday.

Manager Robbie Stockdale reflects on last week’s win at Northampton and expresses his delight at many former Dale players returning to the ground for the night. We also have:

SHIRT NUMBERS, HEAVEN & HELL — A feature looking at players who did and some who didn’t look right in shirt number 4

COVER STAR — Looking at when a former Dale player appeared on the front cover of another club’s programme. This time it’s former Colchester player, Clive Platt.

WE’VE GOT HISTORY — A detailed look at the 50 previous games between Dale and Colchester.

NOT HIM AGAIN — Which players have been regulars in this fixture down the years?

THROUGH THE YEARS — What were Dale doing 5, 10, 20, 30, 40 & 50 years ago?

We have a League Two round-up and opinion columns from John Rowe and, of course, Scrutator.

Action photos appear from the League Two opener at Harrogate, while we also have our regular half-time quiz page.

All this and much, much more will be in Friday’s The Voice of Spotland, on sale in the Club Shop and around the ground, priced £3.00.
