Refwatch: Mansfield Town v Rochdale Friday, 17th Sep 2021 12:00 by TVOS Hull referee Carl Boyeson is the man in the middle for Dale’s League Two trip to Mansfield on Saturday. This is the second time Carl has been appointed to a Dale game this season, although the first — the Carabao Cup tie at Harrogate — never actually took place! Having joined the league list in 2002, this will be Mr Boyeson’s 30th game involving Dale, with the most recent coming in February when he was at the Crown Oil Arena for our 4-1 defeat to MK Dons. Carl’s most incident-packed Dale appointment came at the home of Chalky’s mob, Notts County, in January 2005. The match finished 0-0 and was a fairly timid affair, but Boyeson sent-off Dale’s Gareth Griffiths and Ernie Cooksey as we finished the afternoon with only nine men. Cooksey’s red card was later rescinded, meaning he was free to take part in the FA Cup tie at Charlton five days later. Back in our 2013/14 promotion season, Carl refereed two Dale games and proved a lucky charm as they produced six points. Early in the campaign he was in charge of the 1-0 home defeat of bury (a game in which Dale had Peter Vincenti sent-off) and in late-March he was the man in the middle as we won 2-0 at Wycombe. Carl’s full record of Dale matches is: Aug 02 Southend (h), L 1-2 Photo: Action Images via Reuters Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
