Thursday, 11th Nov 2021 12:32 by TVOS

Rochdale AFC’s matchday programme — The Voice of Spotland — is back for Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two fixture against Leyton Orient.

The programme took a break during the behind closed doors 2020/21 campaign, but has returned this season with 76 jam-packed pages to keep readers completely informed and entertained.

The new-look TVOS starts with a poppy-inspired front cover design and an image of on loan Reading defender Jeriel Dorsett.

Manager Robbie Stockdale reviews the recent league and cup games, while Countdown to Kick-Off looks back at an embarrassing evening involving Leyton Orient.

After that we have a host of features, including:

SHIRT NUMBERS, HEAVEN & HELL — A feature looking at players who did and some who didn’t look right in shirt number 9

COVER STAR — Looking at when a former Dale player appeared on the front cover of another club’s programme. This time it’s Paul Connor.

WE’VE GOT HISTORY — A detailed look at the 38 previous meetings between Dale and Leyton Orient.

NOT HIM AGAIN — Which players have played and scored most often in this fixture?

ON THIS DAY — What were Dale doing in the past on 13th November?

100 YEARS IN THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE — Part 6 of a comprehensive feature looking back at Dale’s debut season in the Football League 100 years ago.

We have our regular League Two round-up and opinion columns from Brian Quigley and, of course, Scrutator.

Action photos appear from the games against Oldham and Bradford, while Ryan Bradley brings readers his news from the Rochdale AFC Community Trust.

We have a gallery of images from the recent Open Training Day at the club and Corey O’Keeffe reveals who is the best opponent he has played against.

All this and much, much more will be in Saturday’s The Voice of Spotland, on sale in the Club Shop and around the ground, priced £3.00.

I have fond memories of the Dale playing Leyton Orient. On 20 August 2005, I arranged for my son, Ellis, to be match mascot for the Dale away at Brisbane Road as we now live down in Buckinghamshire.
The Orient had won all 3 of their initial games that season and were sitting on top of the league. We had a strong squad featuring Grant Holt, Rickie Lambert, Gary Jones, Ernie Cooksey and Matt Gilks and turned them over 4-1 in a superb display. The Londoners were shocked, bless them! Ellis now has some great photos of him surrounded by the Dale players after the match beaming with delight.
