Refwatch: Rochdale v Plymouth Argyle (FA Cup 2nd round)
Wednesday, 1st Dec 2021 09:44 by TVOS

Andrew Kitchen will referee at Spotland for the second time in just over a month when he oversees Dale’s Emirates FA Cup second round tie versus Plymouth Argyle on Sunday

The County Durham official was recently in charge of Dale’s final group game in the Papa John’s Trophy against Bolton Wanderers, which ended in a 3-0 win for “the best team in League One”.

Promoted to the National List this season, Andrew has refereed mainly in League Two, but he has also had two League One appointments and four in the Papa John’s Trophy.

His first EFL game was Salford v Leyton Orient on the opening day of the season and he has since travelled from the North-East to various geographical locations, including Barrow, Port Vale, Swindon, Carlisle and Northampton, where he was last Saturday for The Cobblers’ fixture against Leyton Orient.

Andrew ended last season refereeing Torquay v Notts County in the National League play-off semi-final and in total this term, he has officiated at 13 matches, showing 35 yellow cards and one red.
