Manchester City goalkeeper Cieran Slicker has today joined Rochdale on a season-long loan deal.

The 19 year old stopper has come through the ranks at Manchester City and featured 14 times for their U23s last season as they clinched the PL2 title under the management of former Dale boss Brian Barry-Murphy.

Oldham-born Slicker, who is contracted to the Citizens for another two seasons, has also featured five times for Scotland's U21 side having previously played at younger levels for the Tartan Army.

He'll be expected to provide competition for first-choice keeper Richard O'Donnell, while Robbie Stockdale also implied that some of the younger goalkeepers within the squad could now also move out on loan for some first-team experience.
