Dale will meet a new referee on Tuesday night when Tom Reeves takes charge of their first midweek league game of the season at Stevenage.

The Coventry official is in his second season on the National List and after a busy first campaign, Tuesday will already be his fifth match of this term.

Tom’s first league appointment was Leyton Orient v Exeter in August 2021 and over the course of last season he refereed 34 matches, showing 121 yellow cards and seven reds.

He started this campaign at Harrogate v Swindon, which was followed by Oxford v Cambridge, Sheffield Wednesday v Sunderland (Carabao Cup) and Plymouth v Peterborough on Saturday.
