Scott Quigley Joins On Loan Friday, 2nd Sep 2022 13:10 by Chaff Rochdale made a deadline day signing as Stockport County striker Scott Quigley became new Dale boss Jim Bentley's first recruit. The 6'4 striker joins Dale on a season-long loan from League Two rivals Stockport County. Quigley turns 30 years old today but started his football career in Wales for The New Saints where he scored 25 goals in 86 games. During his spell at TNS, he had loan spells at Caersws, Carmarthan and Cefn Druids. His spell at Cefn was hugely successful, scoring 19 goals in 26 games. In 2017, he left TNS to join Blackpool but struggled for form and was sent out on loan to Wrexham where he scored 8 goals in 17 games. Further loan spells at Halifax (2 in 15) and Port Vale (0 in 11) followed before leaving Bloomfield Road to join Barrow in the National League where he rediscovered his goalscoring form. He scored 20 goals in 37 games in the 2019/20 season that saw Barrow promoted to the EFL and followed that with 15 goals in 41 games the following season in League Two. A move to moneybags Stockport County followed as he dropped back down to the National League and helped County to secure the National League title and a return to the EFL for the Hatters. He scored 10 goals in 35 goals last season. This season, he has played twice in the league and twice in the EFL Cup but hasn't got on the scoresheet. Welcome to Rochdale Scott.
