Dale team news for Wycombe trip
Dale team news for Wycombe trip
Friday, 11th Jan 2008 13:24

We bring you the latest team news for this Saturday's trip to Wycombe, as we bid to continue our unbeaten away record which has stood proud since day one of the 2007-8 season.

Glenn Murray’s absence is the only real absentee for Dale for this weekend’s visit to Wycombe. Murray misses the trip whilst he undergoes talks with Brighton about a trip to the South Coast. Not really. Murray misses the trip to Wycombe having picked up a one match suspension following his fifth yellow card of the season last week.

In Murray’s place is likely to be new loan signing Rene Howe. Howe has been something of a goal machine outside of the Football League, though with all the money spent on strikers at Peterborough, it seems he was the unlucky one forced to miss out.

The big debate will probably be regarding the right wing position. Joe Thompson has filled that gap for the last two games, but there’s no doubting that we look a stronger outfit with Kallum Higginbotham there.

The departure of Lee McEvilly, coupled with Murray’s ban, brings a lack of strikers to the club, and given that we could see a surprise call up to first team action for Ben Wharton. Wharton was on the scoresheet in midweek for the reserves and is highly thought of. Don’t rule out a place on the bench for him.

Other than that, it’ll be a case of as you were.

Expected line up:

Russell, Ramsden, Kennedy, McArdle, Stanton, Higginbotham, Jones, Doolan, Rundle, Howe, Le Fondre. Subs: Spencer, Perkins, Wharton, Thompson, Crooks.
