The rumours have now been confirmed, Richard O'Donnell has left to join Blackpool.

Reliable football journalist Pete O'Rourke put his name to this news through Football Insider on Twitter but he's suggesting that the Rochdale Supporters' Player of the Season last season is set to join League One Blackpool with a medical due to be done and today the club has confirmed the departure.

The 34-year-old played 44 times in all competitions and one of the biggest mistakes of the season was dropping him for Jake Eastwood who came in on loan from Sheffield United.

This isn't one too many will have expected I don't think and adds more work to the already monumental recruitment task but O'Donnell will be missed I think, not only on the field but off it too with his work in the Her Game Too movement.
