Show Me The Mani!

After a few weeks of speculation, Rochdale have finally brought in one of their main summer targets and finally brought in a striker.

It was reported a few weeks ago on social media that Hartlepool striker Mani Dieseruvwe was a transfer target for Jim McNulty but when Simon Grayson was appointed manager at Pools, it all seemed to go a bit quiet amid rumours that Grayson was desperate to keep the forward at Victoria Park. Now it seems like those pleas went unheard as Dale have managed to bring the 30-year-old striker to Spotland.

Dieseruvwe has got a good goalscoring record at Hartlepool, having scored 39 goals in 85 appearances for the Monkey Hangers since joining them in July 2023.

It's fair to say the 6'5" striker is well travelled but he started off his career at Sheffield Wednesday, with loan spells at Hyde United, Fleetwood Town and Chesterfield before joining the Spireites permanently in 2015 but struggled for goals and had a loan spell at Mansfield Town before being released and joining Kidderminster Harriers where he scored 4 goals in 29 games and had a loan spell at Boston United before being released again.

He joined Salford City in May 2017 and scored in the National League Playoff final against AFC Fylde as Salford were promoted to the Football League. He also scored Salford's first ever EFL goal against Stevenage on the opening day of the 2019/20 season. He had further loan spells at Chester City and Oldham Athletic and left Salford having scored 9 goals in 81 games and joined Tranmere Rovers for a season but struggled to get in the side and was loaned out to Grimsby Town where he scored 5 in 13 games in the National League. He was released by Tranmere and moved to Halifax where he scored 13 goals in the 2022/23 season and was Halifax's top goalscorer that season.

He turned down a new contract at Halifax and joined Hartlepool United in July 2023 with the Pools having just been relegated along with ourselves to the National League.

Welcome to Dale Mani!
