Dale’s first home league game of the season against Altrincham on Saturday will be refereed by WILL DAVIS.

This is a quick return to Spotland for the Salford-based chartered physiotherapist, as he was the man in the middle for Dale’s recent pre-season friendly against Grimsby Town.

Now in his second campaign on the National List, Mr Davis refereed twice at Spotland last term.

In August, he oversaw Dale’s comfortable 3-0 home win over Woking, before returning in February for the 4-0 loss to Barnet.

Will took charge of 17 National League matches last season, as well as two in the EFL, but this is his first game in the new campaign.

Those 17 matches saw him show 48 yellow cards and one red card.
