Dale’s final group game in this season’s National League Cup against Everton U21 on Tuesday night will be refereed by MATTHEW SCHOLES.

The Telford-based official was promoted to the National List for this season and Tuesday will be his first appearance at Spotland.

He has refereed four National League fixtures this term, the most recent being Boreham Wood v Aldershot at the start of November.

Matthew’s other appointments this season have been in the National League Cup and Premier League 2.

Last term saw Mr Scholes referee in National League North and National League South, with his final game of the season being the National League South play-off semi-final between Eastbourne Borough and Maidstone United.
