After the collapse last week of the proposed transfer of Ben Williams from Carlisle United to the U's, the move now appears to be back on after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed transfer fee.

Originally a part-exchange deal had been agreed between the two clubs, which would have seen U's striker Scott Vernon join Carlisle, but Vernon rejected the move.

26-year-old Williams will now travel to Colchester to discuss terms and complete a medical before the transfer is sealed.
