It won't shock many to hear that Dale vice captain has turned down his contract offer to join Jim McNulty at Stockport County.

The right sided centre back was outstanding for Dale last season in a back three that won plaudits galore and was one of the best, if not the best defender in the National League.

It seemed inevitable that when McNulty was confirmed as the new Stockport boss, his first signing would be Kyron Gordon and it's transpired that way.
