Rochdale have completed the signing of midfielder Will Jenkins from South Shields for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old has signed a two-year deal at the Crown Oil Arena, reuniting with Ian Watson and Carl Magnay after playing under the pair last season.

Jenkins came through the ranks at South Shields after joining the club at the age of 15. Following loan spells with Dunston UTS and Morpeth Town, he established himself as a key player in midfield.

Last season, he featured in every league game as South Shields finished second in the National League North with 95 points, scoring eight goals along the way.

The energetic midfielder becomes our second new addition to Watson's squad ahead of the new campaign.
