Club launches Superfan competition
Club launches Superfan competition
Tuesday, 12th Feb 2008 17:33

As part of the current drive to attract new supporters to Rochdale Football Club, the Superfan competition has been launched, where over £1000 worth of prizes are on offer for the fan who brings in the most supporters to the club.

This innovative drive is something that as far as we are aware never been done at any other club in the country.

The deal is very simple. Rather than sitting on our backsides and bemoaing our lack of support, we are all pitching in together and doing everything we can to increase the number of supporters who come through the Spotland turnstiles.

And as part of this, the club are launching a superb and unique prize to reward the supporter who brings in the most supporters, with prizes on offer with a value well in excess of £1000.

The club are producing a number of ticket books for the forthcoming game with Chesterfield, and are distributing them to supporters and Goldbond agents in the next few days. In each ticket book, there are a number of vouchers which will guarantee entry to Spotland for the Chesterfield game for just £10.

To be eligible to win the prize, all you need to do is get your name on the back of each ticket, and do your best to bring as many people as possible through the Spotland turnstiles on the day of the Chesterfield game.

It could be a case of bring a load of mates from work, getting all the people in your class to come along or maybe the football team that you play for. Have a look  through your contact list in your phone, and see how many of those people you could tempt to come to Spotland.

And we're not even talking some proper bargain basement game against the likes of Torquay. This is a game against one of our promotion rivals in a fixture which traditionally brings excitement.

Who could forget the recent 4-3 victory at Saltergate? And the last time Chesterfield came to Spotland, we had one of the most entertaining games in years as we drew 2-2.

But anyway, we're preaching to the converted here. It's your job to sell the game to the non-believers in the town, and we're convinced you'll have no problem doing so.

The prize of Superfan which awaits has twelve elements to it, and day by day between now and the game itself, the prizes will be revealed, and we're certain that they are the sort of prizes that ever Dale supporter could only dream about.

The first set of prizes really puts you on a pedestal amongst the supporters. For if you claim the tag of Superfan, you will be given your very own squad number for the 2008-9 season. You pick up a match programme, it'll be there. Check the internet, it will be there. Who knows, should we get featured on the TV for a live game, you'll be having your name broadcast to the nation as one of the Rochdale squad.

And as a follow up prize to that, if it wasn't enough, that squad number will be enough to ensure that you'll be taking your place in the official 2008-9 squad photo. Now that shows beyond anything that your squad number will not just be some token gesture. You'll be stood amongst the Dale players in the programme, in the Ob, and on every single one of those fixture posters that we see all over the place.

There's more prizes to follow, but that's just a taster of what is to come. It really will be a Super Prize for a Super Fan, and all for just dragging as many of your friends down to Spotland as you can.
