Stan Kroenke kept quiet for the second AGM in succession and continues to leave his intentions up for debate.

Peter Hill-Wood was left to answer questions on the subject but refused to give anything away:

"I don't think we are looking for a change in custodian. I think you will find the club is in pretty good hands. I believe he is happy to be a long-term shareholder in our club. Really it's not for me to say what his intentions are."

Kroenke’s reluctance to outline his plans will not sit well with fans that will be anxious about the ease with which the American could launch a takeover despite Hill-Wood’s suggestion that he is happy in his current position as the club’s largest shareholder.

In contrast, the birthday boy was willing to interact with shareholders, reaffirming his belief that we will win a trophy this season. Wenger said:

"I know that we haven't won a trophy for four years but we were very close. I believe that this year the team will do it. When I say that, it is not to please you, it is because I am really convinced of it."

A major trophy this season would probably be the sweetest of his reign and he will be hoping that Kroenke doesn’t launch a potentially unsettling takeover in the coming months.
