Dale defender Rory McArdle will play for Northern Ireland U-21's on Wednesday afternoon, when they take on their Romanian counterparts.

McArdle is a mainstay of the NI U-21's, and as mentioned in the headline, this will be his nineteenth cap in his international career. He has been talked about in recent weeks as somebody who could soon make the step up to the full squad, as he is highly thought of within the Irish camp.

The game will kick off at 2pm and will take place at the Ballymena Showgrounds. The game will also see Rochdale born Bury player David Buchanan in the squad.

McArdle spoke to the Northern Ireland FA website this week, and spoke about the situation at Rochdale. He told them "We're doing alright this year. I have only missed a few games for Rochdale and I am happy with my progress and the main aim with then games to go is to push for that play-off spot. There are always personal incentives and it would be a dream come true to make the play-off final at Wembley,"

"Especially me being a young player I think there is always room for improvement and definitely promotion would help my game because I would be playing against better players' week in week out,"
