The name S.Taylor will live long
in the Dale history books for his goalscoring accomplishments for Dale.
However, there was very little in common between strikers Scott and
Steve in terms of what they delivered on the field for Dale.
In fairness to Scott, he'd had a
decent career in the game, playing football for the vast majority at a
higher level than League Two. And I'm sure that had we signed him a few
years earlier, we'd have had some player on our hands.
But as it was, his better years
were certainly behind him, and the nicest thing you could say about his
spell with Dale was that it was largely forgettable.
He was brought in by Dale boss
Keith Hill when our strikers were struggling for goals a couple of
months into the 2007-8 season. Glenn Murray was short of form, and Chris
Dagnall had been ruled out for the remainder of the season (or so we
thought at the time) with a cruciate injury.
He made four appearances for
Dale, two of which were off the bench, but he contributed little and he
was sent back to MK Dons following the expiry of his month's loan.
He never made another league
appearance for MK and spent the remainder of the season on loan at Grays
before being released by the Dons in May 2008.
