Refwatch Preview: Dagenham (h) Thursday, 21st Oct 2010 20:51 by TVOS Dale will have a Sheffield-based referee for the second week in succession when Jock Waugh takes charge against Dagenham on Saturday. This is Mr Waugh’s first visit to Spotland in a refereeing capacity, but we did see him on the opening day of last season at Port Vale, which was his debut game in the Football League. He spent all of last season refereeing in the bottom two divisions and only took charge of his first Championship match three weeks ago when he refereed Preston v Reading. Jock was back in League 1 last Saturday, when he officiated at the remarkable game between Peterborough and Swindon, which Posh won 5-4. Altogether this season Mr Waugh has refereed eight matches, showing 18 yellow cards and two reds. Also, after a bit of research, we have found that Jock is a member of a Sheffield-based band called Meek Joe (http://www.bbc.co.uk/southyorkshire/music/rawtalent/bands/meek_joe.shtml), although he actually originates from Glasgow, which was probably obvious from his name!
