County Durham referee Andrew Kitchen oversees Dale’s final group game in the Papa John’s Trophy against Bolton on Tuesday.

Mr Kitchen was promoted to the National List this season and while he has refereed mainly in League Two, this will be his fourth game in the Papa John’s Trophy.

His first EFL appointment was Salford v Leyton Orient on the opening day of the season and he has since travelled from Durham to various geographical locations, including Barrow, Port Vale, Swindon and Carlisle.

Andrew ended last season refereeing Torquay v Notts County in the National League play-off semi-final and before Saturday, when he was due at Fleetwood v Wycombe, he had officiated at ten matches this term, showing 28 yellow cards and one red.
