Refwatch: Shrewsbury v Dale
Friday, 16th Nov 2018 20:52 by TVOS

Lee Swabey will referee Dale for the only the second time when we travel to Shrewsbury on Saturday.

The Plymouth official is in his fourth season on the referees’ list and our only previous encounter with him was at Gillingham in January where Dale went down to a 2-1 defeat.

His first league appointment in August 2015 was Mansfield v Carlisle and since then he has refereed entirely in the two basement divisions, as well as at a number of games in all three knockout competitions.

Given his Devon home, most of Lee’s appointments have been in the south and south-west, although on the last two Saturdays he has refereed Port Vale v Notts County and Crewe v Carlisle in the FA Cup.

All told this term, Mr Swabey has been in the middle for 13 games in which he has shown 45 yellow cards and two red.
