Ollie Yates is the referee when Dale play their FA Cup second round replay at Boston on Monday.

The Staffordshire official is in his fourth season on the referees’ list, but this will be only his third Dale appointment.

In April 2018 he refereed the disappointing 1-1 home draw with Bradford, while in November 2018 he was back at the Crown Oil Arena for the goalless draw with Luton.

Mr Yates’ first two seasons at this level were blighted by injuries, although he now seems to be over those problems.

In 2016/17 he officiated 12 matches up to the end of October, before injury ended his campaign.

Ollie returned to action in March 2018 and refereed seven games to the end of that season, including Dale v Bradford as already mentioned.

He was extremely busy last term, refereeing 37 games up and down the country, while Monday will be his 19th appointment of this campaign.

Two of those matches have been in the FA Cup — Maidenhead v Rotherham in round one and the first-round replay between Peterborough and Stevenage.

Those games have seen Ollie produce 51 yellow cards and four red.
