The Pendulum Swings Second Is In Sight !

Saints got a great boost ahead of their trip to Charlton Athletic

The result that all Saints fans hoped for came to fruition when MK Dons beat Peterborough 1-0 in a pulsating game that was full of end to end action, in truth it could of been 3-2 to either side, but MK Dons capitalised on a goalkeeping error to score the games only goal.

Saints now know that if they win at the Valley then they go into second place on goal difference from Huddersfield, but with two games in hand on the Yorkshire club and also two points ahead of Peterborough with a game in hand, for their part MK Dons leapfrogged Bournemouth to join us on 64 although the Cherries have a game in hand on them, our near neighbours themselves have their eyes over their shoulders if Orient should win at least one of the two games in hand they have over them.

But more importantly it now gives Saints focus, they know what they have to do on Tuesday night, a win puts enormous pressure on on Huddersfield and Posh and even a point will still leave Saints in the driving seat.

But first we have to despatch the Addicks which despite their recent poor form wont be easy and we will have to be at our best, the result at Stadium MK should be enough motivation for the Saints players, after months of chasing and being out of reach the pendulum is starting to swing and its putting things into our hands, we have snatched back the impetus at the business end of the season we have to make sure we dont hand it back tamely.

Southampton V Leicester City The Verdict
It was 4 in a row for Tonda Eckert & his Saints side, another polished performance that pushed us up to 11th but more importantly to the fringes of the play off spots, posing the question how a team and it's players who were so poor just 3 weeks or so ago can be so different now.
