Refwatch Preview: Barnet (h) FA Cup
There can be few referees who have took charge of as many of our games over the years than the man appointed for our FA Cup replay against Barnet on Tuesday evening.
The appointment of referee Colin Webster gives another Colin, the site
editor, the chance to recycle one of his oldest jokes by putting a picture of
Coronation Street character Kevin Webster with this Refwatch!
Mr Webster has become a regular fixture at Dale games since joining the list
in 2000, having previously served as a linesman in the Premiership.
This will be his second Dale game this season as he was also at Spotland in
August for the Carling Cup tie against Oldham.
That was his 14th Dale match in total, the full list being:
- 28 August 2000 Halifax T v Rochdale Won 2-1
- 20 February 2001 Rochdale v York C Lost 0-1
- 13 October 2001 Rochdale v Rushden & D Drew 0-0
- 29 October 2002 Rochdale v Exeter C Drew 3-3
- 11 October 2003 Rochdale v Northampton T Drew 1-1
- 06 March 2004 Boston U v Rochdale Lost 0-2
- 15 January 2005 Rochdale v Mansfield T Drew 1-1
- 18 October 2005 Rochdale v Stockport Co Won 3-1 (LDV Vans Trophy)
- 28 January 2006 Rochdale v Boston U Drew 1-1
- 02 September 2006 Rochdale v Hereford U Drew 1-1
- 07 April 2007 Bury v Rochdale Won 1-0
- 28 August 2007 Rochdale v Norwich Drew 1-1 (lost on pens)
- 24 November 2007 Rochdale v Mansfield Won 1-0
- 12 August 2008 Rochdale v Oldham Drew 0-0 (lost on pens, Carling Cup)
You can see from that list that we usually get something when Mr Webster is
the ref, so let’s hope that good run continues on Tuesday night.
