Lee Barnard Trial Date Set !
Lee Barnard now knows when and where he will stand trial for assault.
It will be nearly a year after the event when Lee Barnard finally stands in a court and faces allegations that he caused Actual Bodily Harm to a 27 year old man in the White HHouse bar in Southampton
The trial will start on Monday October 3rd and will take place in Salisbury after Barnard's lawyers argued succesfully that he would not get a fair hearing in Southampton. This is quite a common occurrence in the legal system and certainly not something unique to Barnard.
It hasnt been stated how long the trial will last, but from a Saints point of view it is at a convenient time in that after playing Watford at home on the 1st October, we arent scheduled to play again till we travel to Derby on the 15th, so although Barnard will miss training, he might not miss any matches, that is unless he if found guilty and is given a custodial sentence.
