Ken offered 50/50 deal as rival bid hots up- report whilst Warnock waits for "ten days"

A report by the middle-east based National website claims a breakaway member of the Middle East consortium who have been negotiating to buy Leeds for nearly four months has astonishingly prepared a rival bid. Neil Warnock meanwhile has been quoted by ITV saying things will be better in "ten days".

I could have sworn Bates was in attendance on Tuesday night, but apparently he is due to be at the Forest game on Saturday - his first since Leeds beat Wolves on the opening day of the Championship.

The Middle-East based National claim that a breakaway member of the consortium keen to buy Leeds has prepared a rival bid, where Bates would relinquish 50% of his share but stay on as a consultant until he decides to let the other half go.

The Maths are not that clear cut as Bates owns around 72% of the club. Whether or not this can be dismissed as more media rubbish remains to be seen, however it would not surprise me if he is holding out for a better offer. This latest speculation would surely be a win-win situation for Bates, his pockets lined and his vulgar vanity satisfied at still keeping a grimy grip on our club.

Neil Warnock has yet again bemoaned his luck in the transfer market, stating that the loan men he wanted are mostly gone elsewhere however he acknowledged there was "hard work" happening behind the scenes and according to ITV.com he said something about there being "better news in ten days".

Having followed the saga all summer, how NW can put a timescale on it is beyond me? This is Leeds United for crying out loud and we never do things the easy way! If I was him I would be dreaming of Devon, his lovely wife and kids, giving up on all this nonsense and getting his beloved tractor out!

My biggest worry is the apathy that greeted Tuesday night's defeat to Hull. The crowd never got going and although there were a few fans waving Bates Out banners in the South Stand, it was largely a sombre atmosphere played out in front of just over 19,000 fans - notwithstanding the 2000 or so visiting fans, most could not be bothered to get excited or angry about anything.

Like many season ticket holders, I feel ground down by it all. I'm sick of the constant false dawns, raising my hopes the club will move in a new direction. I would have boycotted the Doncaster game last season had Warnock not been appointed but what has happened since feels like the slow but strong strangulation of the club I love by an Old Aged, Pensioner who spends most of his time in the South of France!
