Pardew To Bid For Lallana
According to press reports Newcastle United are ready to put in a bid for Adam Lallana in the January transfer window.
Toon boss Alan Pardew is of course no stranger to the skills of the Saints captain having managed Saints and Lallana for just over a year between July 2009 & August 2010 and looks set to offer £5 million for the player.
However having left Saints under a cloud, something which Pardew alluded to recently in his interviews when Newcastle played at St Mary's and his alleged disagreements with Chairman Nicola Cortese, this could scupper his attempts with Cortese sure to rebuff his attempts or at least force him to pay a silly amount just out of spite.
Saints fans would of course be horrified to see Lallana leave although if Saints are relegated then it is probably likely to happen, therefore the next month is probably crucial for Lallana's future at St Mary's, a few good wins and Saints will need their Captain to ensure survival, however if Saints were to lose touch with safety in the Premier then the temptation to cash in in January for top dollar rather than see him leave cut price in the summer is not something to be discounted.
