Two depart Spotland
Midfielders Ray Putterill and Ian Craney have both been released from the club after it was decided not to continue their non-contract terms at the club.
In all fairness, it was something of a surprise that both have lasted as long as they have done at the club. With non contract terms usually reserved for players looking to prove their fitness before winning an extended deal, both have stayed on such contracts since the start of the season.
Neither of them had been able to earn a regular first team spot, with Ray Putterill making more impact out the two of them with a number of cameos off the bench, whilst Craney had been limited to just over an hour of league football since the start of the season.
The departure of the two former Accrington men is expected to be part of some changes in the Dale squad. It had been stated that following the signing of Terry Gornell that players would have to depart before further signings could be made.
