Huw Jenkins Appointed As Swans Chairman

Home >Story Index> Jankins Installed As Chairman

Eighteen months after seizing control of the club, the board have finally moved into the position where one of them has been appointed as chairman. Other directors, David Morgan and Brian Katzen have been given specific roles within the club although the announcement has not yet been made as to what these roles involve. The club statement also states that we are likely to see new directors being appointed at the club soon including a second representative from the Supporter's Trust with Nigel Hamer being installed as the immediate favourite for this role.
New chairman Huw Jenkins told the official site We felt that now was the right time to appoint a chairman and vice-chairman because it will help the club move forward and grow. With the foundations now in place it will give the club the right image, plus the leadership to take us in the right direction, and I believe that in partnership with the Supporters Trust, we will go from strength to strength. Decisions have, and will be taken in the interests of the whole club, not just one or two, and we will not gamble on the future of the club we love for anything. When we took over, the Swans' were sinking, now with the club holding it's own, it is time to move forward and continue making progress."
The fans have been asking ever since the current group took control for someone to be appointed as the figure head and now they have their wish. Things are progressing slowly but steadily at the Vetch Field and now all we need are a few more signings for the new season although Kevin Reeves was quoted this morning as saying new signings will be unlikely before the start of pre-season training.
