Roberto Pushes For Liverpool & Man Utd Targets
The Western Mail reports today that the Swans will this week step up their efforts to secure his two loan targets
Pre-season training starts in earnest today and the Swans have just over a week until they head to Sweden on their fitness camp meaning that Roberto is likely to want something to happen today.
Brandy has long since been a target for the Swans who at the moment are the only reported interest in the player and it seems that a return is likely to be on the cards. Having already spent some time here at the back end of last season and with praise from Sir Alex for that loan spell a return to the Liberty seems an obvious one at the moment. Roberto is waiting though for a reply from Old Trafford as to their plans for the player.
Hammill is one that we don’t know about. Paul Anderson was always first choice for the Swans but that was scuppered when he elected to move to Nottingham Forest last week. Hammill had previously been linked and now the paper reports that the interest will be followed up this week. Roberto’s relationship with Rafa will bring this one to the fore although we have to beat off some stiff competition from other clubs to secure the services of the player who spent last season on loan at Southampton.
Reports from Saints fans are not always complimentary but we have seen on more than one occasion that Roberto can get more out of players than other managers.
There is also the small issue of a goalkeeper to back up Dorus at the moment and rumours still suggest that Owain Fon Williams is the man that the Swans want although nothing has been reported in terms of progress on this front but that doesn’t mean that nothing is happening.
Another week, another list of new players to come in?
