Bessone Set For An Early Return
The Swans injury list could shorten soon with Fedo Bessone set to return almost three weeks earlier than expected from injury
Bessone was stretchered from the field during the Swans 2-0 Carling Cup victory over Brentford earlier this week having broken a rib.
And the early diagnosis was that he would be out of action for six weeks which would have kept him out of action until the end of September.
But the summer signing is healing quicker than expected and could now even reach full fitness within two weeks although the 13th September will be the next available match due to the international break.
The Swans take two weeks break from league football after next weekend's clash with Sheffield Wednesday and manager Roberto Martinez believes that the left back could be fit before the first week of that has elapsed as he told the Western Mail “Fede should be available quicker than expected, if he is back before the international weekend, that will be good news for everyone."
Bessone's return would be good news for the Swans in keeping pressure on Marcos Painter who has earned himself the left back berth in the early weeks of the season and give Roberto a second option should he wish to consider it for that position.
