A Rough Guide To Totton

For those who have their visa's in order here is the guide to AFC Totton

AFC Totton play at Testwood Park, this is about a five minute walk up Testwood Lane behind the Shopping Precinct on Commercial Road, fans travelling by train should leave Totton station on the Red Lion Pub side turn left into Commercial Road by the pub and continue along for approx 200 metres, at the HSBC bank on the right hand side turn up the road alongside and continue for about 300 M then Testwood Park will be on your right.

For those travelling by car from Southampton, enter Totton and then continue to the Asda Roundabout, take the third exit and at the Police Station turn right into Testwood Lane, although there  is parking on Testwood lane our advice is continue along the road and past the ground and park at the Salmon Leap pub.

Testwood Park does have a clubhouse on the ground however it is fairly small and will probably be difficult to get a drink before the game, for those on the train the Red Lion opposite the station is big and does drinks offers and is less than ten minutes walk, further along the road you will find the Elephant & Castle and the Cross Keys in truth they are not shall we say family friendly pubs.

For those driving and who want a drink we recommend the Salmon Leap pub there should be ample street parking as well as the pub car park and it is a five minute stroll.

AFC Totton as well as beer in the clubhouse also do hot snacks and beverages, simiarly nearby on Commerical Road there are plenty of takeaways for those that have missed their tea.

AFC Totton play in Blue as modelled in the picture above by Totton manager Stuart Ritchie and are nicknamed the Stags, strangely not because of Totton's reputation as the Las Vegas of the New Forest and its ability to attract Stag parties from all over the South, but because of the large herds of Deer that live nearby in the aforementioned forest.

Garmin Sattelite navigation Systems sponsors of Middlesbrough have their UK base in the Town, which incidentally up untli around 1974 was actually still a village with the proud boast that it was the biggest village in England.

The Totton & Eling Donkey Derby is held on the last Saturday in June at the famous Eling Rec racecourse, it attracts crowds from all over Totton and even on some occasions Marchwood.

The port of Eling was mentioned in the Doomsday book and even last Saturday's Sports Echo as the former BAT cricket team isnt too shoddy.

Enjoy your visit to Totton
