Tudur Jones Showing His Best At Swindon

Owain Tudur Jones is enjoying the end of the campaign - despite being involved in a relegation battle at Swindon

Tudur Jones was on target last Saturday as the Robins nicked a late point against Carlisle but still they need a couple of points to mathematically seal another season in League One.

And Tudur Jones believes that the loan move has done him the world of good as he told the Swindon Advertiser: “When I first arrived I said I wanted to do well instantly and in my first few games I did okay and did a job for the team. That's what was important at that stage

“After such a long lay-off and not having a run of games or being used to playing, it takes time to get back into that groove.

“Certainly, I'm starting to feel my way back into it now.

“It's all about doing whatever I can while I'm here – whether that's just playing well, getting the best out of other people, scoring goals, whatever.

“When you come somewhere on loan you've got to have some sort of effect, and I would like to think I've had a good effect.

“We've picked up quite a few points since I've been here, and it's been important to make the team difficult to beat.

“It has been a long time since I last scored, I haven't scored since before my injury troubles, so it's been at least a couple of years.

“So it's a really nice feeling, but it didn't matter who scored it as long as we didn't lose.

“If you are a player for Carlisle, I would imagine that result could have such a psychological effect.

“If they had beaten us they would have moved onto the same amount of points and would have given them such a boost.

“But to have that snatched away right at the end must be a horrible feeling.

“And for us, Carlisle not gaining any points on us is such a massive boost going into next week's game.”
