Tickets Flying Out
Its been a busyweek for the ticket office
Season ticket sales have topped the 11,000 mark and are rising steadily, however sals are a little sluggish for the opener against Millwall on Saturday.
Bearing in mind the aforementioned season ticket numbers its surprising that the total sales for the game only stand at a little over 15,000 and that includes the away fans.
This means that only about 3,000 Saints fans have bought individual ticketsfor the game, obviously the fact that its being shown live on Sky with a 12.45pm kick off willhave some effect and of course many people are away on holiday at this time of year.
There is of course also thewalk up factor, since Saintshave been in the lower division they have found thata large chunk of individual match tickets are sold in the days preceding the game, in truth that could mean around another 3,000 tickets being sold between now and kick off, if thats the case a crowd of 18,000 would be a healthy figure an a little above last seasons average, indeed way above some of the crowds we were getting in 08/09.
In fact good comparison would be the atendance for last years home game against Blackpool, also played in August and live on Sky with an identical kick off, it saw a crowd of 15,629, a figure that could be surpassed come end of today's sales, however it has to be said that bar a couple of hundred Blckpool fans, it was almost all Saints supporters, so we still need to sell another 1,000 or so more yet to truly say that the crowds are up.
