De Vries - Only Pressure Is From Myself
Dorus De Vries returns to the Swans side this Saturday saying the only pressure on him is from himself
The Swansea City goalkeeper sat out the midweek win over Peterborough but will return against Forest at the City Ground looking to help the Swans end a run of seven successive league defeats on the road - a run that started more than six months ago.
But despite increased competition for the Number 1 spot, De Vries insists that the only pressure on him comes from himself
"I don't feel under any pressure and it doesn't make any difference because I've got my own motivations," he told the Evening Post.
"That's what I've shown over the three seasons I've been here and that's what I've shown throughout my career.
"You create your own space of concentration and everyone in the team has got their own reasons to perform.
"I've got dreams which keep me sharp.
"I don't need somebody else to push me. If someone needs to push me then something's wrong.
"To play for Holland you have to play at the highest level, and that's the Premier League" he said.
"Last year, it was a great compliment when Paulo Sousa gave me a mention to the national team manager (Lambertus van Marwijk) and I thank him for that.
"It's not something I'm constantly thinking about, but it's still a dream."
