Brendan - We Have Had No Inquiries
Brendan Rodgers says that there has been no interest in Darren Pratley or Ashley Williams before suggesting that players stay
The Swansea City manager effectively denied rumours linking Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers and West Ham with two key names - Ashley Williams and Darren Pratley.
Newcastle were just this week reported as being ready to bid £4m for the defender whilst Pratley is out of contract this summer and could potentially leave on a free transfer.
However, Rodgers believes that players should stay and told the Evening Post "I haven't had any inquiries at all and I think most clubs will do a lot of their business in the summer rather than now
"And I also think that if you are an intelligent player, you'll look at the club's situation right now and you won't want to go.
"Look where we could be in a few months' time — as a player I would want to be part of that and I would be very surprised if we were to lose anyone at this stage.
"Those players are key players in a team hunting promotion. It's in their interests to stay here and then we will see where we all are in the summer."
