Tate Eyes Up Next Big Test
Alan Tate knows that the next big test is around the corner but is happy with the battling of the team
Tate was a rock as Swansea City triumphed at Coventry City on Tuesday night and he knows that results like that are hard earned.
The Swans were under pressure for large periods of the game but won through late on thanks to a Stephen Dobbie strike - a strike that moved them back into 2nd place in the Championship Table.
“Sometimes you want perfection – but perfection comes with the result and not in the performance." Tate told the Western Mail
“In fits and starts we had the performance at Coventry, but it was more of a battle and we got the result."
Swansea are widely acclaimed as the best footballing side in the division but will they have to sacrifice that title to get the results needed between now and May? “You have to, to a certain extent, but you can’t go against what you are." Tate added
“If you do that you’re not going to get results.
“We try and stick to what we’re good at and do the physical thing as well.
“It was a different type of challenge at Coventry because their manager (Aidy Boothroyd) knows the league and how to get out of it.
“He’s done it at Watford and it was a great test for the lads because they’re scrapping for points.
“It’s irrelevant to be second at this moment,” he said.
“We’re not going to be promoted because we’ve won at Coventry
“You’ve just got to push on and try to win the next game – and it’s another big one against Leeds on Saturday.”
