Rumours And More Rumours
Saturday saw more Rumours than a Fleetwood Mac reunion concert.
Of course speculation has been rife about the relationship between Alan Pardew and Nicola Cortese for weeks indeed several months however on Saturday those rumours were fuelled by a couple of events.
The first was when the programme was mysteriously pulled from sale before noon, some Saints supporters will have the programme and it will certainly be worth a lot more than its cover price in coming years, Im told that the reason it was taken from sale was that Alan pardew was unhappy with a quote attributed to him in the programme, having spoken to someone who managed to buy a copy, they could see nothing in it that would have warranted such action, but its obviously a sensitive time for some.
The second rumour that flew about was that Alan Pardew had been sacked the previous day, this one i found hard to believe, if that had been the case then Im sure that he would not have been in the dug out and those that watched the lap of honour reported that the manager showed no signs of bidding a farewell in his demeanor.
Thirdly came another rumour, this time that Markus Liebherr did not attend because he was disapointed with the fact that we did not get promotion, again not much to substanciate this other than by putting two & two together and making five.
One thing is for sure though this needs to be sorted out sooner than later.
